Here’s a quick tip to power-up your emails like a 300lb defensive lineman hunting for a Patrick Mahomes on any given Sunday..
Find your voice.
It’s easier than you think, and you don’t need steroids to do it.
Now, here’s the deal with a lot of what you see with your typical email marketing…
There’s a good chance that the sales messages are coming off as flat and dull, and you can test that right now.
Pull up the latest email offer your company sent out and see if it excites you. Would you buy from you after reading that?
Is there any personality in the message, or does it sound like a bunch of “corporate-speak”?
My guess is you’re probably making some sales with those messages. From my experience, though, you’ll always make some kind of sale when you put an offer out there to your list – even if the totals aren’t spectacular.
But here’s my other guess …
When you started your business, either you, or one of your partners, knew how to inspire others to buy into your vision.
Basically: You were able to sell your company with your passion, something you should be working into your emails (and whatever other marketing materials you have up your sleeve), to give them that extra oomph …
Especially if the competition is stuck in boring mode.
So, are you putting that same passion into your emails?
If not, why not?
Here’s a trick play you pull right now to capture that fire and put it to work for you.
You probably have a smartphone right? I do, sorta …
The phone is smart, but its primary user, not so much.
If you do have a smartphone, and you’re smart enough to know how to use it, there’s a good chance it has one of those voice recording feature-thingies on it.
So here’s what you’re going to do …
Pull up that app and hit the record button AND THEN …
Just start talking.
Do a pitch for your product or service, and really sell it.
Just pretend like there’s no one listening …
And if anyone IS listening, just give them a weird look and tell them you’re busy “making money.”
I learned about this technique years ago in my days as a TV news writer, and I heard it again, many years later, from old-school marketing experts like Gary Halbert and Dan Kennedy …
If getting sales through copywriting was a full contact sport, you can bet Bill Parcells would have those two marketers anchoring his D-line.
Stay holy and God bless.
