Let me be crystal clear about A BIG reason why your email marketing might not be working …
You’re not being clear enough.
That’s right: you need to spell things out for your readers.
It’s something I picked up early on during my 15-year career as a TV news writer.
When you’re writing in broadcasting, it’s a bit different from print in that you’re writing for the ear.
Still, the principle is the same …
If your copy isn’t easy to understand for a viewer, it’ll go in one ear and out the other.
In the case of emails, it’ll have people scrambling for the delete button, or worse …
THE DREADED UNSUBSCRIBE BUTTON!!! (Yes, that’s worthy of three exclamation points, because it’s dreaded.)
On a more practical side, which is what you probably care about if you’ve read this far …
If your email doesn’t spell out EXACTLY how to buy your product or service, then you’re leaving money on the table …
Or in the inbox.
Stay holy my friend and God bless.

Post Post Scriptum – It’s time for your Wednesday installment of Taking Down the Modernists! It’s 100% sourced from the most excellent encyclical, PASCENDI DOMINICI GREGIS, by none other than Pope St. Pius X:
“Concerning immanence it is not easy to determine what Modernists mean by it, for their own opinions on the subject vary. Some understand it in the sense that God working in man is more intimately present in him than man is in even himself, and this conception, if properly understood, is free from reproach. Others hold that the divine action is one with the action of nature, as the action of the first cause is one with the action of the secondary cause, and this would destroy the supernatural order. Others, finally, explain it in a way which savours of pantheism and this, in truth, is the sense which tallies best with the rest of their doctrines.”
